CEO of a European CSDAfter 14 years of serving as the CEO of VP, the Central Securities Depository of Denmark and Luxembourg, Johannes Luef will be leaving his role at the company.

According to Monica Singer, the news of Leuf’s departure is poignant:

“Johannes played an instrumental role at the CSD, one which is known truly for its innovation in the post-trade environment. VP was the first CSD to fully-dematerialise all of its securities and it also created a unique concept of cover bonds. Strate has always admired the innovative work that VP has done under Johannes’ leadership. On behalf of Strate, I would like to wish Johannes all the best as he moves on to other areas of opportunity.”

Johannes Luef was a member of the Board of Directors from 1998 until 1999, when he was appointed CEO. The announcement came after Sven Lystbæk, Chairman of VP’s board, stated in the company’s 2012 Annual Report that a generational change had been agreed at VP and will be implemented during 2013.
